Team Work

What a great example of perseverance and team work.
Here is a photo of some very happy boys who completed our new 100 piece floor puzzle.  It took time, team work, patience and good communication skills.
Great to see you working together and enjoying a challenge.  Well done team😀

E.O.T.C with the Rangers

We explored the bush using some of our senses.

Touch
Can you find the right tree just by touch?
Paula was excellent at using touch to find Ranger Bronwyn's tree.

We were relating well with others by being careful leaders of those wearing the blind folds.

Smell
We used our scratch, scratch, scratch fingers, our dab, dab, dab sponges then our sniff, sniff, sniff noses to explore the smell of different trees and plants in the bush.  Each plant had its own special smell.

We made our own bush 'smellies' using leaves off the forest floor.

Thank you Bronwyn, Denis and Madelyn for helping us learn more and explore the bush.  It really was a wonderful day!

Education Outside The Classroom

The year 2 students had a hugely exciting and learning rich experience in our native bush yesterday.  Ninety children along with teachers and parents travelled by bus to Arataki.  We went in a bush walk and spent time with our local bush Rangers.

Supporting Fiji- Cyclone Appeal

It was so good to join with others in thinking about and responding to the devastation being experienced by the people of Fiji as a result of the recent cyclone.

One of our class members was in Fiji at the time the cyclone hit and has shared his experience and what he saw with us.

Thank you to all our NWS families for supporting today's coin trail and for the continued donations of food items.

Here are some photos of our class placing coins on the coin trail map of the islands of Fiji.
