Traditional Maori Instruments - Taonga pūoro

Artist Horomona Horo shared his knowledge, musical skills, legends and stories of his ancestry with us.  We were very privileged to see some of his collection of traditional Maori instruments and enjoyed the music he made with them.  Did you know August is Maori Music Month?

Here are just a few instruments we enjoyed at the presentation.

This instrument makes the sound of the male NZ Case Moth.  What amazing creatures we learnt they are. Mrs Chester can't wait to find out more about their life cycle.

A big  THANK YOU to...
Horomona Horo for sharing his kete of knowledge with us.
