Athletics Day

We were grateful for the superb weather today.  A fantastic display of talent was on show amongst our students at Mount Smart Stadium.

Even the bus rides were a heap of fun:)

Well done team!  You were all great.

Now remember to bring those hats every day.  The sun is getting HOT!

Welcome to Mr Law

Mr Law is joining our class for five weeks this term.  He has joined us from the University of Auckland.

Last week we enjoyed a maths session with Mr Law, using dye and water.  We are beginning a unit focusing on volume and capacity.

What did we notice?
The dye colour looked different in each jar as we added water.
The dye got lighter as we put more water in the jar.
The jars that were darker had less water.

Talofa Lava from Falease'ela Village Samoa

In the holidays Mrs Chester stayed at Lalotalie, by the river in Falease'ela village.  She slept in this fale while on a school trip with her son. What a beautiful place and such welcoming people.

They washed and swam in the river, canoed and snorkelled in the ocean and met many wonderful people of the village and children in the local schools they visited.

These are the Village children who came to a holiday workshop session our school group ran.  The children played games and did activities with us and we performed songs and dances for each other.
